Scholarship Application

Please read this information carefully and, if you qualify, fill out the application form below.

Thanks for contacting us about a partial scholarship with Green Path Herb School. We believe everyone should have access to excellent herbal information. For this reason, we offer a lot of free information, including our YouTube channel, years of articles and recipes on our blog, free herb books and downloads, and free herb classes. We also offer a small number of scholarships for several of our Green Path Herb School Programs.

How do you know if you should apply?

Because scholarships are limited, we ask that you assess your needs carefully before applying. Please be aware that if you get a scholarship when you could truthfully afford to pay more, you are limiting access for those who truly need help accessing our programs. Paying full price also respects the work of all of our teachers, who have families to support and rent to pay. When teachers are paid fairly for our time and labor, we are able to invest resources to offer more free and lower cost offerings.

Those who should avoid applying:

  • Those who have access to financial security, own property or have reliable personal savings.

  • If you are able to pay for “wants” and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life.

  • If you have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc.

  • You own your own home or rent higher end property. If you own a new or lightly used car.

  • You can go on annual vacations.

  • If you can ask others for financial support, such as family members, partners, or friends, who are willing and able to support your goals.


Those who should apply:

People whose economic circumstances would prevent them from being a part of the class if there was not be a deliberate opportunity made for them to access the class without a scholarship.

  • If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, food, child care.

  • If you are living paycheck to paycheck or are in significant debt.

  • If you qualify for food stamps or government assisted programs such as SSI or health care.

  • If you have no access to savings.

  • If you have trouble taking time off of work without it being a financial burden.

  • If you are struggling to make ends meet due to daily, systemic, and inherited impacts of racism, transphobia, ableism, classism, and other oppressions. This includes those who are BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two-spirit, intersex, asexual).

  • If you are disabled, immigrant, a veteran, part of an ethnic or religious minority.

  • If you have experienced economic and societal hardships throughout their life.

We are looking for motivated, committed individuals passionate about learning about herbal medicine. All prospective students applying for a scholarship must fill out the application form below. After reviewing your application, we will contact you with availability.

Scholarships are granted on a financial needs basis. We ask that each scholarship recipient make sure they can commit to the full class. There are different scholarships available depending on the program.

For the Herbalist Certificate Program, we offer $2000 off, approximately 40% of the full tuition. The rest of the tuition ($2995) can be paid before January 1, or a payment plan can be set up. All tuition must be paid by the end of the program, or the student will not receive a certificate.

For the Herbal Foundations Program, we offer $400 off, approximately 40% of the full tuition. The rest of the tuition ($630) can be paid before class begins, or a payment plan can be set up. All tuition must be paid by the end of the program, or the student will not receive a certificate.

We are also open to doing work trade if that is a better fit for you. We generally reserve this for local folks for things like gardening and projects at the school, but we are open to trade offers from others with specific skills, such as social media work. There are lots of folks applying for scholarships, and we have a limited number that we offer. Therefore, we highly recommend that you explicitly follow the directions below and give as much information as you can so we understand who you are and why we might give you a scholarship.
